THE ORIGINAL Dracula film, the first cinematic interpretation of Bram Stoker's novel, and one of the greatest horror films of all time - Nosferatu - will be screened in Galway - accompanied by a live soundtrack from the ConTempo Quartet.

Sibéal Ní Chasaide will join The Moy Singers as the special guest for their Christmas concert on Friday, December 1, in the Great National Hotel, Ballina. Mary Ruane Brogan, chairperson of the Moy Singers, said: “We are so honoured and excited to be welcoming such a high profile guest to Ballina for our annual Carols by Candlelight Christmas Concert.”

The Galway Music Residency has announced a five-year partnership with NUI Galway, with the university becoming its education partner. Clifden Community Arts Festival began its 40-year life in Clifden Community School in 1977 and the arts in education has been the central ethos of the festival ever since. With the opening of a new community school in Clifden this year, the festival which takes place from September 13-24 2017, will be part of this new and exciting beginning for the town.
